[Explanation of the Actual Aircraft]
The Gekko of the Japanese Navy fought valiantly in nighttime interception against American B-29 heavy bombers during the final stages of the Pacific War. Among them, the Type 11A, which appeared in the summer of 1944, was an enhanced version with three 20mm cannons, known as oblique guns, that protruded diagonally forward from the fuselage. During its production, the previous manifold exhaust pipes were changed to thrust-type single exhaust pipes, and some aircraft were also seen equipped with radar antennas on the nose.
