■Product Description
[The starting point of the tank development race during the Cold War]
Production began in 1958 when the conflict between the East and West blocs was deepening, and approximately 100,000 units were produced, including the base T-54 and its derivatives. The Soviet T-55 tank became the starting point for the fierce tank development race that followed between the US and the Soviet Union. It featured a compact hull with excellent productivity and ballistic protection, a hemispherical turret, and a powerful 100mm gun. In the early 1960s, production of the T-55A, with enhanced radiation resistance, also began. These T-55s and T-55As were also license-produced in Czechoslovakia and Poland, and numerous variations were created through repeated updates. T-55 production continued until the late 1970s, and it was deployed in over 40 countries, including Eastern Bloc and Arab nations, appearing in conflicts around the world, such as the Middle East Wars and the Gulf War.
