■Product Description
[The culmination of fleet destroyers, recreating the sleek appearance of the first half of the war]
The Kagero-class destroyer was first planned in 1937 after Japan's withdrawal from the London Naval Treaty. The first ship of this class, the Kagero, was completed in November 1939. With a hull that excelled in stability, seaworthiness, and strength, it was equipped with powerful anti-ship armament consisting of three twin 12.7cm guns and two quadruple 61cm torpedo tubes, and boasted an excellent speed of 35 knots and a cruising range of 5,000 nautical miles at 18 knots. Starting with the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941, it participated in various operations during the Pacific War, including the Rabaul invasion, the Battle of Ceylon, and the Midway invasion. In particular, in November 1942... In the Battle of Lunga Point, the destroyer Kagero, along with eight other destroyers, severely damaged the American heavy cruisers Minneapolis, Pensacola, and New Orleans. Later, together with the destroyer Makinami, it achieved a major victory by sinking the American heavy cruiser Northampton. Furthermore, it also engaged in convoy escort and troop and supply transport duties. Until it disappeared off the coast of the Solomon Islands in May 1943, it constantly fought fierce battles on the front lines. ●Standard displacement: 2,000 tons ●Length: 118.5m, width: 10.8m ●Power output: 52,000 horsepower ●Speed: 35 knots ●Armament: 3 twin 12.7cm 50-caliber guns, 2 quadruple 61cm torpedo tubes, 2 twin 25mm machine guns. ■Product Specifications
