■Product Description
[The heroic figure blessed with military fortune is revived]
The Kagero-class was the first to be planned after the end of the disarmament treaty and was said to be the culmination of fleet destroyers. Yukikaze was the eighth ship of this class and was completed in January 1940. She participated in major operations during the Pacific War, such as the Battle of Midway, the Battle of Guadalcanal, the Battle of the Philippine Sea, and the Battle of Leyte Gulf, and also engaged in convoy escort and transport duties, constantly fighting fiercely on the front lines, yet she survived the war almost unscathed, earning her the nickname "miracle destroyer." At the time of completion, she was equipped with three 12.7cm twin guns and two 61cm quadruple torpedo tubes, but from the middle of the war onward, the anti-aircraft guns were gradually strengthened, the second main gun was removed, and radar was also installed. The beautiful form of the ship was now imbued with ferocity. During Operation Ten-Go in April 1945, it fought valiantly as a direct escort for the battleship Yamato, rescuing many survivors before returning to port. After the war, it became a special transport ship and was engaged in transporting demobilized soldiers and other troops. Later, it was handed over to the Republic of China as a war reparation ship and remained in active service until the early 1960s.
