■Product Description
[A unique form born from rough roads] During World War II, the German army, troubled by the deep snow and rough roads of Russia, developed the RSO as a countermeasure. This vehicle, whose name means "tracked tractor for the Eastern Front" in German, had a tracked suspension and a 70-horsepower air-cooled V8 engine, allowing for stable driving at low speeds regardless of the road surface. The first production type, the RSO/01, is characterized by its rounded cabin made of pressed steel plate. Snow tracks could also be attached to the tracks to improve off-road capability. Production of the RSO/01 began in October 1942, and from the spring of the following year, improvements were made, such as raising the bottom of the cabin by about 30 mm to avoid interference between the snow tracks and the body. Vehicles with the exhaust pipe silencer removed were also seen. The RSO continued to work in a wide range of theaters during the latter half of the war, including the Eastern Front, towing artillery and transporting supplies.
【Model Specifications】 ★This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit of the RSO/01 multi-purpose tractor, which demonstrated its capabilities mainly on the Eastern Front. ★Total length 126mm, total width 64mm. Modeled based on actual vehicle research, capturing the characteristics of vehicles produced from spring 1943 onwards. ★The rounded cabin, created by press molding, is also realistically reproduced. ★The cargo bed can be displayed with the canvas cover extended or with only the frame. The realistic texture of the canvas cover is also a highlight. ★The tracks are of the partial link type with straight sections as one piece. ★Includes one driver figure, two types of waterslide decals including the Eastern Front in 1944, and pre-cut mask stickers for windows and window frames.
