■Product Description
[Anti-tank gun that tenaciously supported the German army]
The German Marder III anti-tank self-propelled gun was developed in three types based on the chassis of the Czech-made 38(t) light tank. Following the H type, which was equipped with a 7.62cm Pak 36 gun, which was captured and improved from the Soviet army, and the M type, which was fitted with a 7.5cm Pak 40 gun, the final M type appeared in May 1943. While retaining the same main gun as the H type, a major feature was that the engine was moved to the center of the hull and the fighting compartment was placed at the rear. It proved its effectiveness in ambush attacks and other tactics during the Battle of Normandy, which began in June 1944.
