■Product Description
[A Tank Killer with a Reverse Concept]
In 1942, the British Army began development of the Archer self-propelled gun, equipped with a 17-pounder gun that had performance comparable to the German 8.8cm gun. As a stopgap until a full-fledged anti-tank vehicle could be deployed, it was decided to modify an existing vehicle, and ultimately the Valentine infantry tank was selected. In order to mount the long main gun on a small chassis, the Valentine's chassis was extended and used in reverse. The front half of the chassis was used as the fighting compartment, and the gun was mounted facing backward. Using high-velocity armor-piercing rounds, it could penetrate 192mm thick armor plate at a distance of approximately 900m, making it possible to destroy any German tank from a long range. Production began in April 1944 and it was deployed to anti-tank battalions of armored and infantry divisions. It was first used in combat in October of the same year and proved to be a great trump card against German tanks.

[Model Specifications]
This is a plastic model assembly kit of the Archer anti-tank self-propelled gun. ★1/35 scale, total length 191mm, total width 78mm. ★Based on thorough research of the actual vehicle, the model realistically captures the fierce appearance of the low-slung hull with a long-barreled main gun. ★The hull, which has been extended based on the Valentine, realistically reproduces even the welding patterns at the joints of the armor plates. ★The main gun boasts an impressive form, and even the breech is rendered with delicate detail. ★The open-top fighting compartment is also fully three-dimensional with a variety of equipment such as ammunition racks and vehicle-mounted machine guns. ★Includes three figures: a commander pointing to a target, a gunner preparing to fire, and a loader holding ammunition. ★Includes two types of decals: one for Canadian vehicles and one for British vehicles.
