■Product Description
[The last fortress that shook the Allied forces]
The Elefant was a German heavy tank destroyer equipped with a long-barreled 71-caliber 8.8cm gun capable of destroying Soviet T-34 tanks from a distance of over 2,000m, thick armor reaching up to 200mm, and an innovative running system with motor drive powered by an engine generator. Initially named Ferdinand after its developer, Dr. Porsche, 90 units were completed by May 1943. It was first deployed in combat in the Battle of Kursk, a fierce battle against the Soviet army in July of the same year. It achieved the feat of destroying more than 500 Soviet tanks. Following this, various modifications were made based on the lessons learned, including the addition of machine guns and cupolas, and the installation of tracks to improve mobility. In February 1944, its official name was changed to Elefant. Blessed with skilled crews and maintenance personnel, the Elefant demonstrated its inherent offensive and defensive capabilities in defensive battles on the Italian and Eastern Fronts. It was even deployed in the Battle of Berlin in April 1945, continuing to pose a threat to the Allied forces until the very end of the war. ■Product Specifications
