■Product Description
[Revolutionary Small Passenger Car]
The Simca 5 (Cinq) was produced by the French company Simca based on the Italian masterpiece small car, the first-generation Fiat 500 (Topolino). It adopted advanced mechanisms for its time, such as hydraulic brakes and independent front suspension. The engine was mounted at the very front of the streamlined body, achieving good passenger comfort despite being a two-seater. It was a great success as a revolutionary small passenger car, with approximately 65,000 units mass-produced between 1936 and 1940. Even after the German army occupied France, about 6,000 units were produced for the German army and others, and were used as transportation for soldiers on a wide range of fronts.
