[The main player that supported the rapid advance in the Western Blitzkrieg]
The Panzer II A-C type supported the rapid advance of the German army in the blitzkrieg at the beginning of World War II. It was a light tank with a compact hull with a maximum armor thickness of 15 mm and a 2 cm tank gun, but in the campaigns against Poland and France it compensated for the shortage of Panzer III tanks and fought valiantly as the main force of the tank units. On the French front, based on lessons learned, many vehicles were fitted with 20 mm thick additional armor plates on the hull, fighting compartment, and front of the turret.
