■Product Description
[The culmination of a masterpiece tank in a compact size]
Nearly 50,000 M4 Sherman tanks were produced during World War II, becoming the main battle tank of the Allied forces. Among its many variations, the M4A3E8 was the final model produced during the war. It featured a later-model welded hull with improved armor protection and was equipped with a Ford V8 gasoline engine. It was characterized by its excellent off-road performance thanks to the new horizontal suspension system (HVSS) and wide tracks, and the high firepower of its long-barreled 76mm gun. The M4A3E8, also known as the Easy Eight after its model designation E8, had approximately 2,600 units produced between August 1944 and April 1945. It made its debut in the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944 and contributed to the Allied victory on the European front at the end of the war. After the war, it was deployed in the Korean War and was also supplied to the newly formed Japan Ground Self-Defense Force.
