■Product Description
[A light armored vehicle that will lead the new generation of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force]
The Light Armored Vehicle has been deployed mainly to the infantry units of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force since 2002. It has a small and lightweight body and is equipped with a 160 horsepower water-cooled 4-cylinder diesel engine, with a top speed of 100 km/h. It can also be airlifted by helicopter or transport aircraft for emergency deployment. Furthermore, based on the lessons learned from the Iraq deployment from 2004, improvements have been made to the details of vehicles for domestic use. There are various specifications, and differences can be seen according to the mission of each unit, such as the presence or absence of smoke grenade launchers and 5.56mm MINIMI machine guns, and the shape of the antenna depending on the radio equipment used.
