■Product Description
[A Four-Wheel Drive Vehicle Ahead of Its Time]
The Type 95 Small Passenger Car, also known as the Kurogane 4x4, was the world's first practical four-wheel drive vehicle, developed at the request of the Japanese Army. After its official adoption, various improvements were made, and the type produced from 1937 onwards featured a three-seater body and a 33-horsepower V-twin 1400cc air-cooled engine. Equipped with independent front suspension, rear leaf-spring rigid suspension, and large-diameter tires, it demonstrated excellent off-road performance. Approximately 4,800 units of all types were produced between 1935 and 1944, and they continued to be used for reconnaissance and liaison work on a wide range of fronts, from mainland China to Southeast Asia and the Pacific theater.
