■Product Description
[Japanese Herbivorous Dinosaur Discovered in Fukui Prefecture, the Kingdom of Dinosaurs]
Dinosaurs once roamed the Earth. Fossils found all over the world hold the secrets of a magnificent drama of life that lived on Earth hundreds of millions of years ago. With the development of natural science, we are gradually learning more about the mysterious appearance of dinosaurs. Experience that romance through this model.
《About Fukuisaurus》
"Fukuisaurus" is a herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Early Cretaceous period, about 120 million years ago. Fossils were excavated in Katsuyama City, Fukui Prefecture, known for the excavation and research of dinosaur fossils, and the first complete skeleton reconstruction in Japan was carried out. In 2003, it was given the official scientific name "Fukuisaurus tetoriensis" as a new species of dinosaur. Fukuisaurus means "Fukui lizard," and Tetoriensis comes from the Kitadani Formation of the Tetori Group, the geological layer where the fossil was discovered, meaning "from the Tetori Formation." Adults grew to be about 5.2m in length and were mainly bipedal, but it seems they sometimes walked on all fours using their forelimbs as an aid. It is thought that they grasped plants with the tip of their beak-like mouth and ground them up with their well-developed teeth before swallowing.
《Scale model based on scientific evidence》
This model is a precision scale model developed based on research by dinosaur experts and specialized institutions. The natural pose that conveys the skeletal structure and the texture of the skin are modeled based on scientific evidence. The appeal lies in the "realism" that conveys dynamism and a sense of life.
Cooperation: Dinosaur Research Institute Co., Ltd.
Prototype Cooperation: Kazunari Araki
Supervision: Takuya Imai (Associate Professor, Fukui Prefectural University; Researcher, Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum)
《More detailed explanation about Fukuisaurus!》
What kind of dinosaur was Fukuisaurus? Why were its fossils found in Japan? What were its physical characteristics and what kind of environment did it live in? Knowing the real thing will make model making even more fun. A detailed explanation by a dinosaur research expert is introduced on another page, so please take a look. Click the icon below to go to the page.
《Click Lock Series that can be assembled without using glue》
The Click Lock series offers authentic sculpting while being easy to assemble by simply snapping the parts together. A small number of parts thanks to clever part division and molding technology that focuses on precision will result in a realistic finished product.
《What color were dinosaurs? Let's enjoy dinosaur research in 1/35 scale! 》
Since the body color cannot be determined from the fossil, it is not well known what color Fukuisaurus was. It would be good to imagine the environment in which the dinosaur lived, by referring to living creatures on Earth today, or by referring to picture books or the internet, and then color it. Tamiya paints, which are available in a wide variety (sold separately), are recommended for coloring.
