Used on all fronts during World War II, the 21/2 ton truck of the U.S. Army continued to run as a production truck until the Korean War. More than 800,000 trucks were produced during World War II, with varying variations depending on their use, but the highest production rates were recorded by cargo trucks. The flagship type, the CCKW-353 self-loading 4.8 tonnes, off-road loading 2.42 tonnes, road loading 4 tonnes, top speed of 72 km/h, and outstanding performance at the time. Its excellent durability and transportation capabilities allowed it to transport large quantities of personnel, fuel, ammunition, and food to the front lines, supporting the Allied victory.
