■Product Description
[About the Panzer III Ausf. L]
The Panzer III, one of the most representative German tanks of World War II, was produced in A to N forms and played a major role as the main battle tank of German armored divisions from the early to mid-stages of the war. Among them, the Ausf. L is a type that was equipped with a long-barreled 60-caliber 5cm gun as the main armament, and hollow add-on armor plates were attached to the main gun mantlet and the front of the fighting compartment, increasing its offensive and defensive capabilities. The 5cm main gun was effective against Soviet T-34 tanks within a range of 600m. In addition, the armor on the front of the turret was increased to 57mm, and 20mm armor was added to the main gun mantlet with space left open. A deck was installed. Furthermore, a 20mm armor plate was fitted in front of the driver's seat, leaving space for it. The Maybach HL120TRM engine produced 300 horsepower. The torsion bar suspension offered excellent mobility and reliability, and it is said to be the most complete type of Panzer III. Approximately 650 units were produced by the latter half of 1942, and they fought fiercely against the Allied forces in Russia and on the North African front. Even in the middle and later stages of the war, they continued to fight valiantly, compensating for the shortage of the newer Tiger I and Panther tanks. ■Product Specifications

[Model Specifications]
This is a 1/48 scale plastic model assembly kit of the German Panzer III Ausf. L. ★Total length 128mm. The rugged style with its flat surface construction, which can be said to be characteristic of German tanks in the first half of the war, is realistically reproduced. ★External equipment such as spare road wheels and tools are combined in a good balance of one-piece molding and separate parts, achieving both a realistic finish and ease of assembly. ★The additional armor, which is a characteristic of the Ausf. L, is attached with space provided, and the three-dimensional finish is also reproduced. ★The escape hatch on the side of the hull, which was abolished in the later Ausf. L models. The ricochet plate on top is also included as a separate part. ★ The commander's hatch can be opened or closed. It would also be good to have the separately sold tank crew set inside. ★ The caterpillar tracks are made of link-and-assemble type with each straight section as a single piece. Even the sag at the top is reproduced, giving it a realistic feel. ★ The chassis is made of die-cast metal to give it a sense of weight. ★ Three types of markings are included, such as the 502nd Heavy Tank Battalion, known for its mammoth unit mark, and the 10th Tank Division of Tunisia.
