The fifth-generation Silvia S13, which underwent a full model change in May 1988, was a huge hit upon its release, becoming a top brand in specialty cars and winning the Good Design Award that same year. Two and a half years later, in January 1991, a minor change was made, evolving it into the later PS13 model.
