Mr. & Ms. SKYLINE JAPAN
The fifth-generation Skyline C210 series, affectionately known as "Japan," was born in August 1977 as a complete model change of its great predecessor, the C110 series. From the time of its release, two young men and women, following in the footsteps of its predecessor, were used as the commercial characters, and the catchphrase "SKYLINE JAPAN" quickly became popular and widely recognized, making it a huge hit. While it certainly inherited the Skyline's identity, such as the basic style of a long nose and short deck, the round four-lamp taillights, the surfing line, and the horizontal needle meter, the notch-back body with a separate trunk and the stylish design based on straight lines gave a sense of the dawn of a new era. Japan continued to sell well, and the cumulative production volume reached 540,000 units, making it the second biggest hit of all time.
