The FD3S, the third-generation RX-7, has repeatedly evolved since its debut in October 1991, fulfilling its mission and reaching the pinnacle of perfection as the world's only rotary-engined sports car.
Loved for 11 long years and truly running continuously, the FD3S was scheduled to cease production in August 2002 due to the impact of the 2000 emissions regulations.
Before the end of production, the final special limited edition model, the "RX-7 Spirit R," was released in April 2002.
