■Product Description
Originally a seaplane tender built under the Second Naval Armaments Replenishment Plan of 1934, it was converted into a midget submarine carrier in 1940, and then, as a result of losing its main aircraft carriers after the defeat at the Battle of Midway, it was converted into an aircraft carrier in 1943.
In its first battle, the Battle of the Philippine Sea, it was assigned to the Third Air Fleet's Third Carrier Division and used as a bomber by equipping Zero fighters with 250kg bombs.
The following year, it participated in Operation No. 1 and was sunk by American aircraft in the Battle of Cape Engaño.
