The "Tomica 55th Anniversary Automobile Manufacturer Collaboration Project" is a dream project in which five automobile manufacturers—Toyota Motor Corporation, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., Honda R&D Co., Ltd., Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, and Suzuki Motor Corporation—have cooperated to have their designers, who normally design actual cars, create special 55th-anniversary designs exclusively for "Tomica".
The designs that best suit some of the most popular "Tomica" vehicles were selected through internal competitions at each company. Actual vehicles decorated with these designs are also scheduled to appear at various events.
