■Product Description
The Type 3 60-caliber 15.5cm triple gun was the first triple-barreled naval gun developed by the Imperial Japanese Navy, and was initially developed as the main gun for the Mogami-class light cruisers.
This gun was highly regarded as a masterpiece naval gun with high firing accuracy and excellent operability, and when the main guns of the Mogami-class heavy cruisers were replaced, only the barrels were reused and repurposed as secondary guns for the Yamato-class battleships.
At the time of completion, the Yamato-class battleships were equipped with a total of 12 guns in four turrets, one aft of the second and third main gun turrets and one on each side of the port and starboard sides (later reduced to 6 guns in subsequent refits), and this arrangement made it possible to direct 9 of the 12 guns to one side.
