■Product Description
The E-7 is an airborne early warning and control aircraft equipped with a plate-shaped MESA (Multifunction Electronically Scanned Array) radar antenna on the back of the B737-700 fuselage. It is an air support aircraft that monitors and tracks enemy aircraft and commands and controls friendly aircraft while staying airborne for extended periods.
The antenna is built into the front and rear of the fairing and on both sides of the pylon, allowing for a 60-degree search in the front and rear, and a 120-degree search on the sides of the pylon. It can electronically scan 360 degrees in less than 10 seconds, and the antenna also serves as the antenna for the improved IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) system.
The thin, plate-shaped antenna reduces air resistance compared to conventional disc-shaped rotodomes.
The detection range is over 600km in look-up mode, over 370km in look-down mode for fighter-sized targets, and over 240km for frigate-sized targets at sea.
It can simultaneously track 180 targets, with the ability to intercept 24 of them. It also functions as an ELINT antenna, with a detection range of over 850km at an altitude of 9000m.
The kit includes newly molded MESA antennas, wingtip antennas, and ventral fins to recreate the E-7A.
Painting mask stickers and multiple types of Royal Australian Air Force and Turkish Air Force decals are included.
When completed, the aircraft will be approximately 496mm in length and 467mm in wingspan.
