■ Description
The P-43 is a prototype of the P-47 Sunderbolt. Initially developed as a development of the P-35, the prototype AP-4 became a high-altitude fighter aircraft with an internal retractable main body with a turbocharger at the base of the hull. The engine achieved a top speed of 565 km/h in flight tests of 1,200 hp R-1830 air-cooled 14 cylinders, becoming the U.S. military's first "500 km/h" fighter. It was also capable of rising more than 10,000 meters from an altitude of 13,000 meters to capture Mount Everest in 1942.〇〇Only the P-43 was able to take on the ceremonial command reconnaissance aircraft. The kit was equipped with edging parts, painting masks, and four types of U.S. Army Air Forces decals.
