■ Description
S.55 is an Italian Savoy.・Developed at Marquette, it was a twin-engined flying boat first flown in 1924. Originally developed as a military aircraft, it was also produced for civilian use and operated on the Mediterranean until 1932. In a unique layout, passengers and cargo were stored in twin-engined boats, and the cockpit was placed in a thick main wing between the boats. The twin-engined engine was based on the push-pull method of placing the engine racks on top of the main wing and back. The tail supported by two trusses extended from the hull had two vertical stability boards and a steering wheel between them. The S.55A was produced in a military version equipped with a higher output foot A.22R engine (560 hp) x two.・Barbo is from Italy.・We've got planes flying across the U.S., Italian Air Force X-2s, Romanian Navy X-1s, painted face masks, leather A.22R engines, etching parts, and a 1/72 scale injection kit from Drawing's in Ukraine.
