■Product Description
The C-97 is a large transport aircraft developed based on the B-29, a large bomber that played an active role at the end of World War II.
The aircraft is characterized by its distinctive daruma-shaped cross-section and is equipped with four Pratt & Whitney R-4360 Wasp Major engines. After successfully making its maiden flight in 1944, it was deployed from 1947 and continued to play an active role in military transport missions for 30 years until its retirement in 1978. It was also deployed to MATS (Military Air Transport Service), which was established after the war, and demonstrated its transport capabilities to the fullest during the Berlin Airlift, which was carried out for 15 months from June 1948.
The aircraft is approximately 23cm long and features a daruma-shaped cross-section, as well as panel lines that are realistically modeled. The landing gear can be assembled in either the parked position with the gear extended or the flight position with the gear retracted. The decals are made by Cartograf and include two different liveries, including the MATS livery from the late 1950s. A model of the Angel of Deliverance aircraft from the Berlin Airlift Group, which participated in the Berlin Airlift, is also available in the same scale, making this a fun addition to any collection.
●The aircraft's shape, with a total length of approximately 230mm and a daruma-shaped cross-section, as well as the panel lines, are modeled with great realism.
●The landing gear can be assembled in either the parked position with the gear extended or the flight position with the gear retracted.
●Decals are made by Cartograf.
●Includes two types of coloring, including the MATS coloring from the late 1950s.
