The sanshin is a stringed instrument indispensable to Okinawan music.
Introduced from China over 600 years ago, it is an essential instrument for Ryukyu folk songs and traditional dances, but recently it has been attracting attention as famous artists and actors play and sing with it. The printed design has been carefully crafted to the smallest details, such as the depiction of the snakeskin on the body and the wood grain on the base.
