■Product Description
The 14-meter large motorboat was a boat used by both the Imperial Japanese Navy and the Army to transport personnel, cargo, and other items.
This large motorboat was groundbreaking at the time, as it could dock troops and supplies from transport ships all the way to the landing point. The superior functionality of this large motorboat greatly enhanced amphibious operations. The US Navy, recognizing the concept of the large motorboat, keenly felt the need for landing craft and built numerous landing craft, which were deployed in the Normandy landings on the European front and in battles on the Pacific islands. Medium cargo boats were equipped on destroyers and other ships in the later stages of the war for the transport of personnel and supplies. However, they were not officially equipped and seem to have been installed on a case-by-case basis.
