While other ships had half of their guns removed (two guns) and one of their two torpedo tubes removed to strengthen their anti-aircraft armament, the Satsuki only had its rearmost main gun removed. Compared to ships that had been strengthened since their completion, the Satsuki only had its rearmost main gun removed, maintaining the silhouette it had at the time of its completion.
