■Product Description
This is the "Honda S2000 (AP2) Type-S 2007 (CE28SL wheels)" produced as a 1/43 scale handmade model car by "EIDOLON".
Model Description
This model faithfully reproduces the Honda S2000 Type S, Honda's lightweight open sports car equipped with the domestic racing wheel "CE28SL Wheel".
Since we have already produced the AP2 type S2000, this time we proceeded with development by combining AP2 body data with scan data of the actual car, just like the actual car. This increased development efficiency and achieved a reproduction that has a high degree of unity when AP1 and AP2 are placed side by side.
The distinctive rear wing is made of white metal. Resin is prone to bending over time and has limitations in thickness, so we selected the optimal material with the texture and shape of the actual car as our top priority. The finish has the precision and rigidity that only metal can provide.
The CE28SL wheels that adorn the car's wheels were digitally modeled. The original was made by machining brass, and the rim was reproduced using machined aluminum parts. The delicate, numerous spoke structure is cast in white metal, achieving a high level of precision, strength, and texture.
In addition, to allow you to enjoy the open style unique to the S2000, parts for both open and closed soft tops are provided. You can switch them out according to your preference.
Even now, more than 10 years after production ended, the S2000 remains highly popular as an open sports car with a pure gasoline engine, and depending on the condition, it can be traded for a value exceeding the new car price.
Please enjoy its refined style and Honda sports spirit as a collection item by displaying it alongside the AP1 and AP2!
Vehicle Description
The S2000 is a sports car planned to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. It was released in 1999. As a Honda FR sports car, the S2000 was a highly talked-about revival, marking the first time in 29 years since its predecessor, the S800, ceased production in 1970.
The S2000 was produced from its launch in 1999 until 2009 with the basic design unchanged, but it can be broadly divided into three versions: the initial 2-liter model, the mid-cycle model with a facelift including a redesigned bumper, and the later model with an enlarged 2.2-liter engine. The 2-liter model is generally called the AP1, and the 2.2-liter model the AP2.
In 2007, the "S2000 Type S" was announced, featuring an exterior similar to the "S2000 CR" released in North America.
The biggest highlight of the Type S is undoubtedly its aerodynamic parts. The large lip spoiler and rear wing are designed to increase downforce while maintaining a balance between the front and rear.
Furthermore, the wheel design was also changed with the introduction of the Type S to reduce weight. Spare tires and jacks have also been eliminated, and efforts have been made to minimize weight increase.
This time, we have recreated the look of a lightly lowered car fitted with Rays CE28SL wheels, a top brand of Japanese racing wheels.
You can enjoy the classic combination with Honda's lightweight sports cars.
