This model faithfully reproduces the "Toyota GR Yaris RZ 2020," which was created in 2020 as a 100% genuine Toyota sports car.
Following the GR Supra, we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to produce the GR Yaris as an official model car for GAZOO Racing. As an official model car, it is of course required to accurately miniaturize the dimensions of the actual car, but we positioned the most important challenge as how to convey the "atmosphere of the actual car" within the different scales of 1/18 and 1/43 and proceeded with development accordingly.
The basic prototype design is based on 3D data of the actual car provided by Toyota, but this is only an outline and guideline, and ultimately, the sensibility of the prototype designer plays a major role, and the press lines and surface expressions of the body need to be optimized to match the scale.
For example, the shape of the reflectors for the lights and the texture of each part were carefully observed from the actual car, and great care was taken to reproduce their shape and feel.
In addition, with this 1/18 Yaris, in addition to reproducing the interior and exterior, we also pursued how the lower suspension arm looks when you look at the model from a slightly lower angle, and adopted a parts configuration that makes it look as if the lower arm extends towards the in-wheel side and supports the wheel.
This time, we will offer the four colors that are in the lineup of the "Toyota GR Yaris RZ".
