This is a 1/72 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the F-35A Lightning II, the fighter jet that the Japan Air Self-Defense Force has begun to deploy.
About the actual aircraft
The F-35A Lightning II is the aircraft that the Japan Air Self-Defense Force has begun to deploy as a successor to the F-4 and F-15 fighter jets. It is a fifth-generation multirole fighter jet that was jointly developed internationally, mainly by Lockheed Martin of the United States. It was planned to be able to handle a variety of missions in the Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps with just this one aircraft. While the basics are common, it has different specifications depending on the operational method. Among them, the F-35A is a conventional take-off and landing type developed as an aircraft for the Air Force. It is equipped with a single Pratt & Whitney F135 turbofan engine. Furthermore, this set also includes dedicated photo-etched parts for detailing. A separate set of dedicated photo-etched parts is included in the set. The photo-etched parts include not only the cockpit, such as the instrument panel and seat belts, but also parts to represent the details of various parts of the aircraft, as well as parts for wheel chocks used when the aircraft is parked, air intake covers, and engine nozzles. Of course, the style of the latest stealth aircraft is accurately modeled not only in shape but also in panel lines and other details.
