About the actual vehicle
The Panther V tank is known as the most well-balanced masterpiece tank among the German tanks that appeared in World War II. It has a hull design with sloped armor and is equipped with a 7.5cm gun with a 70 caliber. Equipped with the same Maybach HL230V 12-cylinder gasoline engine as the Tiger tank, it exhibited mobility with a maximum speed of 55 km/h. Although it was plagued by various problems immediately after deployment, its reliability gradually increased and it demonstrated its power as the main battle tank in the latter half of the war. Among them, the G type was the de facto final production model of the Panther tank, with production starting in March 1944. Nearly 3,000 units were produced until production ended in May 1945, and they remained in service until the end of the war. Meanwhile, in the later stages of the war, many German tanks began to have coatings applied to their hulls for protection against magnetic mines. These were non-magnetic coatings applied to the surface of the hull. This was standardized from 1943, and vehicles were even shipped from the factory with the coating already applied.
About the model
This model is a 1/35 scale reproduction of the German Panther tank, one of the masterpiece tanks of World War II, with a Zimmerit coating applied to the hull. It models the G type, the final production model of the Panther. The hull shape, which adopts a sloped armor design, is realistically reproduced, and the unique pattern of the Zimmerit coating is engraved on the front, rear and sides. In addition, the Zimmerit coating is also reproduced on the turret, including the gun shield. The turret features a choice of opening or closing the rear hatch, a periscope part reproduced with transparent parts to enhance the realism of the cupola, and spare track parts that can be attached to reinforce the armor, resulting in a highly detailed finish. The main gun barrel is made of aluminum metal parts, and the muzzle brake is a 3D printed part that accurately reproduces its shape. The running gear uses assembly-type Magic Tracks. The suspension, including the suspension arms and torsion bar suspension, is reproduced, resulting in a mechanically detailed finish.
