●Building Tamada's beloved machine in 2007
【About the actual machine】
The YZR-M1 (OWS-4) is a machine developed by Yamaha for the 2007 Moto-GP World Championship. It was developed in accordance with new regulations that came into effect in 2007, such as changing the engine displacement from 990cc to 800cc. The 800cc engine inherited the same 4-stroke inline 4-cylinder layout as the machine from the previous year. It is mounted on a fully machined Deltabox frame. In the 2007 season, in addition to the two machines of the factory Fiat Yamaha team, Japan's Makoto Tamada and France's Sylvain Guintoli participated from the French racing team, Tech3 Yamaha team. Tamada finished 18th in the overall rankings, and Guintoli finished 16th. They showed consistent performance.
