This is a 1/72 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's F-15J Eagle that received special paintwork during the Bushido Guardian joint exercise between the Japan Air Self-Defense Force and the Royal Australian Air Force, which was conducted from August 30 to September 15, 2023.
About the actual aircraft
The main fighter aircraft, the F-15J Eagle, is based on the US Air Force's F-15C, which began operational deployment in 1974, and has been equipped with unique equipment by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. It is equipped with its own tactical electronic warfare system, J/TEWS, and also its own data link system. It began deployment to units in 1982 and still plays a main role in the air defense of Japan's skies. The Japan Air Self-Defense Force also conducts joint training to deepen cooperation and collaboration with other countries. From August to September 2023, training was conducted with the Royal Australian Air Force at Komatsu Air Base. Among the F-15Js that participated in the training from the Japan Air Self-Defense Force was a specially painted aircraft with markings paying tribute to the Royal Australian Air Force. The coloring is based on the national colors of Australia, green and gold, with the Australian flag painted on the left wing and the Japanese flag on the right wing. In addition, a kangaroo is painted on the left vertical stabilizer and the words "Bushido Guardian" are painted on the right.
