The MiG-21 is a Soviet fighter jet that has been in service since 1959 and is still in production in the 2000s. It was designed by Mikhayan.・The first prototype flight of the MiG-21 was in 1955; the first mass production model was called the MiG-21F in 1956. The MiG-21bis was first flown in 1971. The engine was equipped with a Tumansky R-25-300 turbojet. It flew at a maximum speed of 2175 km/h. It was equipped with a 23mm machine gun GSh-23L as a fixed armament. The aircraft had four hard points and could be fitted with 1,300 kg of troops.
