The U.S. Army's short-range aerial support aircraft and ground attack aircraft are the A-10 Sunderbolt II, which have been in service since 1977. They are equipped with twin engines, and the main wing features a style that uses a straight wing. The main wing and hull have a combined 11 hardpoints, 7260 kilograms of bombs, rockets, and missiles. In addition, the aircraft heads are equipped with GAU-8/A Avenger autocannons. They achieve high attack capabilities. Improvements after deployment are continuing, and the A-10C, introduced in 2005, is modified and deployed with a scooppit.
