About the actual car
The Lancer Turbo is Mitsubishi's rally car that debuted in the 1981 World Rally Championship.
It was developed based on the European-spec Lancer EX2000 Turbo announced in 1979.
It was a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive (FR) two-wheel-drive machine developed in accordance with Group 4 regulations.
The engine mounted in the front was an inline 4-cylinder SOHC 1997cc.
It was equipped with one intercooled turbocharger made by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and produced 280 horsepower.
Development continued, and it debuted in the WRC in 1981.
In the 9th round, the 1000 Lakes Rally, held in Finland in August of the following year, 1982, the combination of P. Airikkala and J. Piironen achieved an impressive 3rd place.
This demonstrated the high driving performance achieved by the conventional FR2WD mechanics and the well-balanced body configuration.

The clean-styled body, which adopts a flush surface design, faithfully reproduces rally equipment such as front auxiliary lights, overfenders, and rear spoiler with new molds.

Modeled after the machine that came in 3rd place in the 1000 Lakes Rally, the 9th round of the World Rally Championship in 1982.
The interior, which incorporates a roll cage, also has a spartan finish.
The suspension on the underside of the chassis and other details convey the performance of a rally car.
The orange paint scheme painted on the body is also reproduced with large decals.
