■Product Description
The word "drone" has now become commonplace, but originally it referred to a full-size unmanned aircraft controlled by radio.
Its history is long, and it is said that practical use began as early as World War II, with some even participating in combat.
Drones started with the unmanned conversion of already proven aircraft for highly advanced and specialized missions.
The early form of these drones is revived in 1/144 scale.
Among the unmanned aircraft development programs being pursued by various countries, the U.S. Navy was one of the first to achieve success.
The F6F Hellcat, famous as a rival to the Zero fighter, was also a masterpiece as a base for unmanned aircraft.
The appearance of this unmanned Hellcat at the time of its introduction is reproduced with aircraft parts that are renowned for their fine detail.
The process of painting the entire aircraft in warning colors of red and orange, and further painting the tail fins in light blue and pink identification colors, offers a different kind of enjoyment compared to building fighter planes.
You can also enjoy the unique presence of these pioneers who challenged new frontiers in the sky, such as the first unmanned prototype aircraft and the aircraft that participated in special observation missions during the nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll.
