The World Expands with THE BONSAI
There is something in common between the joy of a miniature world, as felt in famous dollhouse collections around the world, and the worldview embodied in bonsai. With this in mind, Platz created this product under the supervision of miniature craftspeople Hiroyuki & Kyoko.
Bonsai. This word has now become a universal language as BONSAI. The delicate care and thoughtfulness unique to the Japanese people, nurtured by the unique climate, geography, and historical background of our country. It is because our ancestors have continued to seek the way with such a "Japanese spirit" that bonsai has become BONSAI, which is understood all over the world.
THE BONSAI is a series of miniature models that further condense the world of bonsai. These are handmade miniature models that make full use of various techniques.
For example, with a pine tree, we create needles by unraveling coconut fibers, shape the branches with wire and clay, and attach fine chips to the trunk to recreate the unique appearance of a pine tree. The pots that are paired with these carefully crafted trees are small but have an authentic finish, fired in a kiln. Each is a miniature about 5 centimeters tall, but you can enjoy their presence precisely because of their small size. The scale is 1/12, the international standard for dollhouses.
How you enjoy them is up to you, the one who picks them up. What do you see in these miniatures that are only a few centimeters tall, and what do you reflect in them?
