■Product Description
The Horten brothers, Walter and Reimar, possessed such design talent and flying skills that they won consecutive glider competitions before the war. In 1943, the Air Force planned the 3X1000 project, and the Horten brothers took on the challenge with a flying wing aircraft. The Horten brothers' design was approved, and the design started with a plan to mount two BMW 003 engines. First, they built an unpowered aerodynamic test aircraft, the V-1. The structure was easy to manufacture with a steel tube frame and plywood, and it also had stealth capabilities.
The aircraft's flight characteristics were good, and later an engine-powered aircraft was also produced. Initially, it was planned to mount the BMW 003, but due to development delays, it was decided to mount the Jumo 004. Since the 004 had a larger diameter than the 003, a new prototype was built.
