In 1941, the year the German-Soviet war broke out, the Soviet military high command recognized the importance of anti-tank rifles and ordered engineer Simonov to design the semi-automatic anti-tank rifle "PTRS-1941". It was an extraordinary rifle, exceeding 2 meters in length, weighing over 20 kilograms, and capable of firing five consecutive rounds of a newly designed large-caliber 14.5mm round. This round had the ability to penetrate German tanks in the early stages of the war and proved to be a formidable weapon. Soon after, the ability to destroy tanks was lost due to advancements in armor, but it remained a long-range, high-powered gun, which led to the lineage of anti-materiel rifles in later years. In addition, the SKS carbine, a smaller, redesigned version of the PTRS-1941, was highly regarded and had a major influence on the design of Soviet automatic weapons after the war. This product is a 1/12 scale model of the PTRS-1941, capturing its imposing form based on interviews conducted at the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Ordnance School. Structural details such as the option for fixed magazine configuration and movable bolt are also reproduced. The model is molded in two colors: brown and black.
