This model reproduces the unusual appearance of the EBR, an old-style rifle with new equipment transplanted onto it, as closely as possible. This model is based on the Mk14 Mod0 style adopted by US Navy and Air Force Special Forces.
About the Mk14 Mod0 EBR Type
The EBR is a modernized version of the US military's old main battle rifle, the M14. The M14 was created as an evolved version of the Garand rifle that had survived WWII and was deployed in the Vietnam War. The M14 boasted high power and long range, but its overall length of over 1 meter made it difficult to handle, and it was considered a "useless weapon" in modern warfare, which was mainly close-quarters combat, such as in the jungles of Vietnam, and was relegated to storage by the M16 that appeared instead.
However, as times changed and the battlefield shifted to the vast deserts of the Middle East, the low power and short range of the M16 became a problem. The solution to this problem was the "re-use" of the M14s that had been lying dormant in a warehouse. The M14s, which had been evaluated in this way, were then modified for modern warfare to be put into full operation, resulting in the EBR (Enhanced Battle Rifle).
