Little Armory is a 1/12 scale assembly kit that combines realism with the ability to be combined with articulated figures. The sixth and latest release is themed around the grenade launcher, an indirect support weapon that significantly increases the firepower of infantry!
About the M79 Type
Adopted by the US Army in 1960, this break-action single-shot grenade launcher was deployed in the Vietnam War. It was highly valued as an indirect support weapon that filled the range gap between hand grenades and mortars, and 350,000 units were produced. Even after the adoption of the M203 grenade launcher that could be mounted on rifles, it continued to be used by explosive ordnance disposal teams that dealt with IEDs and by some special forces units. A "sawed-off" version with a shortened stock and barrel also exists, and a model with a red dot sight attached to it attracted attention again when it was reportedly used by the Navy SEALs DEVGRU.
