■Lineup
Tyrannosaurus rex Total length approximately 13m
The "tyrant dinosaur" that has appeared many times in this "Dinosaur Excavation Chronicle" is now restored with long ornamental feathers attached from the neck to the tail. Although skin fossils of a dinosaur thought to be Tyrannosaurus have been found, they are only from a small part of the body, so the overall appearance remains a mystery. Even the king of dinosaurs seems to be at a disadvantage in this battle, but he is ready to fight back with his big mouth open. The condition of its skin, which has been debated in research, with some saying it was covered in feathers, and others that most of its body was covered in scales for heat dissipation, is depicted here with the back of its neck and tail covered in ornamental feathers. Based on the pigments discovered, research into its colors is progressing, and we have lined up two colors: black and brown.
Triceratops Total length approximately 9m
The most famous ceratopsian, this time in a pose to fight back against Tyrannosaurus! Among ceratopsians, the two horns above Triceratops' eyes are particularly thick and powerful.
Recently, we have learned more about the condition of Triceratops' skin, which has large and small scales on its back and crocodile-like cobblestone-like scales on its belly.
Dakotaraptor Total length approximately 5.5m
Close relatives of Velociraptor and Deinonychus, it is among the largest, measuring over 5m. It is almost certain that it was closely related to the ancestors of birds and was covered in feathers all over its body. Its hind limbs were long, and it is thought to have been agile for its size, and its distinctive hind claws were larger and more developed than those of other species.
Ornithomimus Total length approximately 3.5m
As its other name, the "ostrich dinosaur," suggests, it is thought to have been one of the fastest dinosaurs with its long hind limbs. Based on the characteristics of its forelimb bones, it is thought to have had long, wing-like ornamental feathers, which it mainly used for courtship. It is a carnivorous dinosaur that is relatively closely related to Tyrannosaurus, but its mouth is beak-shaped, and it is presumed to have been a herbivore or omnivore.
