■Product Description
The F-4G, modified from the F-4E as the Wild Weasel V, was equipped with a large amount of electronic warfare equipment in its spacious airframe. Major external changes include the AN/APR-38/47RHAW fairing on top of the vertical stabilizer, the addition of antennas on the dorsal fuselage, and the change in the shape of the fairing due to the removal of the cannon under the nose and the installation of equipment. Another characteristic is the reinforcement of the wing structural members on the underside of the fuselage. In this kit, these features are reproduced with newly molded parts, and the instrument panel unique to the G model has also been similarly sculpted.
The camouflage applied to the F-4 that appeared in the late 1970s was the Vietnam camouflage known as SEA camouflage. The markings included in the kit for aircraft 69-7208 of the 563rd Fighter Squadron (563TFS) feature many warnings written in white lettering, a characteristic of post-Vietnam War aircraft. Also included is the 69-0253 aircraft of the same squadron, which in the 1980s changed to a strong green camouflage known as European I, reflecting its focus on combat in Europe, and features painted shark teeth.
