■Product Description
The F-4J is an improved version of the F-4B, the first mass-produced model of the F-4, with enhanced radar, landing gear structure, and engine. It made its first flight in May 1966, and deployment to units began in December, with 522 aircraft produced by December 1972. It also participated in the Vietnam War in 1968, producing many MiG killers (aircraft with a record of shooting down MiG fighters).
The decals include markings for two MiG killers from VF-114 (114th Fighter Squadron) Aardvarks, based on the aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk, and one aircraft from VF-21 (21st Fighter Squadron) "Freelancers," which was based on the aircraft carrier Ranger and used the F-4J from 1968 to 1979.
