■Product Description
The Ka-go Observation Aircraft is a landmark aircraft in Japanese aviation history as the only autogyro (an aircraft equipped with unpowered Kaiten wings and propelled by a powered propeller) produced and put into practical use in Japan. The Army commissioned Kayaba Manufacturing to develop it as a replacement for balloons used by artillery units for observing shell impacts, and it was officially adopted in 1942. Taking advantage of its excellent performance, such as short takeoff distance of 20m and the ability to stop in mid-air, it fought until the end of the war, performing tasks such as shell impact observation, combat command, liaison, and anti-submarine patrol on the battlefield.
