■Product Description
The United States suffered heavy losses from Soviet-made surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) and anti-aircraft artillery (AAAs) during the Vietnam War. As a result, the development of anti-radar attack aircraft and missiles progressed relatively early. The purpose of anti-radar attacks is to receive radio waves from enemy air defense radars and fire control radars, destroy their sources, and neutralize enemy air defense facilities. These aircraft performing air defense suppression (SEAD) missions using anti-radar attacks were given the nickname Wild Weasel. From 1975, 134 F-4Gs were modified from existing E models to become Wild Weasel Vs, and they were seen not only in the continental United States but also in Europe and the Western Pacific during the Cold War. In the 1990-91 Gulf War, F-4Gs were used for air defense suppression missions against Iraqi forces, marking the final military service of the F-4 series.
This kit features a newly molded, precisely reproduced underside of the fuselage with reinforced wing structural materials, a bulge housing sensors under the nose radome, vertical stabilizer, rear panel, and instrument panel. Markings are included for two aircraft from the 35th Tactical Fighter Wing (35TFW) in Hill Grey camouflage, and two aircraft from the 52nd Fighter Wing deployed in Germany.
