■Product Description
The Type 73 Small Truck is a domestically produced small general-purpose vehicle that was continuously operated by units of the three branches of the Self-Defense Forces: the Ground, Maritime, and Air Self-Defense Forces. From its official adoption by the former Defense Agency and the Self-Defense Forces in 1973 (Showa 48) until it was replaced by the new 1/2-ton truck in 1996 (Heisei 8), it was a famous vehicle that served for approximately a quarter of a century. One of the major characteristics of this vehicle was that numerous derivative models were manufactured to accommodate various purposes.
This kit reproduces the early model of the Type 73 Small Truck, which had different specifications depending on the year of manufacture, and was used for a long period of time. The canvas tarpaulin has a soft molding that has been hand-finished. Markings include decals for vehicles belonging to the Imazu 3rd Tank Battalion Headquarters, Narashino 1st Airborne Brigade, Fuji Training Brigade Headquarters, and Toyokawa 10th Artillery Regiment, as well as individual number decals in a font for license plates.
